Soft water bryophyte springs

Spring communities of lime-poor waters of the Palaearctic domaine dominated by bryophytes, mostly characteristic of montane levels, also locally of well-lit lowland sites. In Lebanon, this habitat mostly occurs on sandstone or basalt. Some characteristic species are [Cardamine uliginosa] and [Drosera rotundifolia].
